Welcome to Wonderful World of Darklords' Small Screen Summer! We're kicking off our summer of Disney shows with the villain that made little twelve-year-old Rachel look from her TV screen to her copy of the 1994 Ravenloft supplement Domains and Denizens and say, "I think she belongs in here": Demona. She's a Byronic garbage fire who will stare directly at the sun but never in the mirror, but she's also less involved in the day-to-day operations of the domain than Xanatos, which poses some unique challenges. Topics discussed include:
- How to compress the series' thousand-year timeline and globe-spanning adventures to a single domain that got pulled into Ravenloft after Strahd did;
- Why people might be uniquely afraid of gargoyles in a world that has aarakocra, dragonborn, and tieflings;
- Adapting the various antagonist factions of Gargoyles into D&D terms, from Xanatos to the Hunters to Macbeth;
- Drawing your PCs into Demona's orbit even though she's much more interested in messing with Goliath than with a random band of wandering transients;
- and more!
