VR is Changing Forever: Apple, Samsung, & The Death of Rec Room

Valve’s Steam Frame is finally here — but is it actually a better buy than Meta Quest 3? GT and SadlyItsBradley break down Steam Frame, Quest 3, PCVR, SteamVR, Half-Life: Alyx and what Valve is really trying to build with its return to VR hardware. We talk Steam Frame battery life, 144Hz, eye tracking, dynamic foveated rendering, Valve’s new reprojection system, controllers, wireless PCVR streaming, colour passthrough and why Quest 3 is still such a difficult headset to beat for standalone VR.Bradley also explains why Steam Frame’s biggest advantage might have nothing to do with raw specs — and everything to do with Valve creating a much more open XR platform where developers and users can build experiences that simply aren’t possible on more closed systems.Plus, we look ahead to Meta Phoenix, split compute, lighter mixed-reality headsets and what the next generation of VR and XR hardware could actually look like.Is Steam Frame really supposed to beat Quest 3… or is Valve playing a completely different game?
