New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani and Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez are being heavily criticized after they were seen on television smiling and laughing as the names of victims were being read at Ground Zero. Even worse, the shot just before them was of a young man sobbing at the memorial. Mamdani was already facing sharp criticism from 9/11 victims for attending the ceremony and had spent the weeks leading up to the event trying to mend fences with firefighters and first responders. A new report from Anthropic is adding new concerns about the growing dangers of artificial intelligence, highlighting the real-life concerns after one if its lead researchers warned of AI’s potential to destroy all of mankind by the end of the decade. Anthropic says over the past eight months, it’s identified and disrupted dozens of potential plots to use its technology “for malicious activity.” That includes blocking scientists who have used its AI models to conduct research that could have developed biological weapons. The war continues between the Trump Administration and Jimmy Kimmel.  Hours ago, Kimmel ended up airing his interview with Texas Democrat James Talarico on YouTube, rather than on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” after the late night host says the FCC threatened him, his show, and ABC.  The White House fired back, saying Kimmel was “play-acting” and referenced Kimmel’s “egocentric delusion” insisting they never threatened anyone.  This all comes weeks after ABC filed an against the FCC for what they call an unconstitutional retaliatory campaign against the network, forcing them to file for license renewals years ahead of schedule. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Tonight at 6pm ET the state of Florida continues its record setting trend of executions, with the planned lethal injection of Daniel Conahan, Jr, also known as “The Hog Trail Killer.” Conahan will die for the 1996 murder of 21-year-old Richard Allen Montgomery, but he’s suspected in the murders of at least 12 other men in the area. Police say he lured young men with the promise of a couple hundred dollars, to pose nude in bondage photos.
