JHS Racing have built untold number of race bikes and road bikes, but nothing in the same quantity as the SV650. James Holland - proprietor of JHS Racing - has made knowing all their is to know about the SV his life's work, and Chris Moss chatted to him to find out why, and talk about the success story the SV650 has carved out for him, and for itself.

In 2014 Bike Magazine's Hugo Wilson and John Westlake formed two thirds of a three-rider team that rode a V-Strom 1000 from their offices in Peterborough, in the UK, back to the factory it was assembled at in Hamamatsu, Japan. Sylvain Guintoli has been there and done it in almost every discipline of motorcycle racing, with GPs, BSB, and World Superbikes ticked off. Ten years ago Cameron Donald did something pretty special - he took a legitimate four-stroke MotoGP machine around the Isle of Man TT course as part of Suzuki's celebrations marking 50 50 years of Grand Prix racing. The TT winner climbed down off the 2010 Senior TT podium, jumped aboard Loris Capirossi's GSVR and set off on a parade lap, a parade lap calculated at 122mph! He recounts the tale with infectious enthusiasm to host Chris Moss.

A motorcycling stalwart, the SV650 has sold in huge numbers since its launch in 1999, and during its lifetime has carried people to work, been the first 'big bike' for many newer riders, and been a great value plaything. It's also filled racing grids and contested the Isle of Man TT!
