All about Mobility with Dean Somerset

On the 16th of December, 2020 I had the golden opportunity to interview John Joseph! He is the original singer of the Cro-Mags and Bloodclot, a plant based eater for the last 40 years, 12 x Ironman, 2 x Kona Championship finisher, a Bhakti Yoga practitioner, Author and a devout follower of the teachings of A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. John was born and brought up in a very tough and challenging environment but the Hare Krishna philosophy changed his life forever! He is changing other peoples' lives now and is passionate about it. His knowledge of the Bhagavad Gita, is outstanding and inspirational. He has a clear message for Indians: "Do not forget your culture and do not try to westernize yourself!"

Artie Gonz @artiegonz was our Speaker on the Fit Geek Show on the 15th of July. He's an Ex-Lifer; if you didn't know what that meant: he served a life-sentence in federal prison (in the USA) for 21 years. Out of those 21 years, he spent 8 years in solitary confinement. Not everyone who gets incarcerated has the capacity to move towards positivity and has the willingness to change for the better. But Artie did so, unlike most of the others. Lyle has dedicated over 2 decades of intensive research in the field of nutrition and fitness! If this wasn't enough, he has written more than 10 books on various topics in nutrition and body recomposition. He is the founder of bodyrecomposition.com and also someone I look up to for extremely credible, articulated and in-depth knowledge in this field. He is one of the very few individuals who has studied fat loss in females and acknowledged that it is very different than that in males. His expertise in fat loss for females is beyond imagination and I look forward to helping as many females as possible through this interview.

Shihan Mistry will be talks about resistance training incorporated within Goju Ryu Karate Do through traditional methods. So honored to begin a series of live talks with Shihan Pervez Mistry, who has also been my Guru and source of inspiration to pursue Exercise Science as a career! Shihan Mistry was the FIRST EVER Black Belt Karate Instructor qualified to teach and grade in India! In 1979, he also became the FIRST INDIAN to pass the Japanese Instructor's course conducted by the Federation of All Japan Karate-do Organization. Apart from being one of the most highly renowned Karate Instructors in the world, Shihan Mistry has also been an inspiration to thousands of individuals in the Fitness Industry. Shihan Mistry has trained a number of branches of the Indian Defence Forces which include the Military and Para-Military forces. These are just a handful of accomplishments that I've mentioned from a huge list. This interview was conducted on July 27, 2020.

Sensei Nakamura (7th Dan) is the World Chief Instructor of International Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate-do Federation, which is also the largest traditional Okinawan Karate organization in the world! Sensei Nakamura learned from Master Shuichi Aragaki who is a direct student of the founder of Goju-Ryu Karate – Master Chojun Miyagi.
