Today we’re chatting with Joachim Maudet.
This chat was a delicious mix of sincerity, vulnerability, love and laughters. Joachim and I met about 12 years ago.. and I loved him straight from the beginning, he is a radiant, sunny, funny, deep and generous person and artist.
As a dancer he trained at the National Conservatoire in Paris. He made his way to that training with the best creativity inventing company names and wearing jazz pants. He then worked with Arthur Perole (Cie F), Akram Khan Dance Company (UK), the Noord Nederlandse Dans (The Netherlands), Christian Ubl, National Dance Company Wales (UK), Leonard Rainis and Katell Harterau (Le Pôle) and La Vouivre (FR) amongst others.
Joachim has been creating with his own company Les Vagues. His piece ‘WELcome’ was part of Aerowaves 2023. Throughout his work, he explores the relation between voice and body.
His pieces are touring Europe, and the world. Do catch it if you can.
For those of you in Luxembourg he’ll be at Kinneksbond in April 2025.
For those of you in London he’ll be on at The Place in March 2025.
Together we chatted about acrobatic rock, innocence, working around success rather than towards it, failure, and selling fruits on the market.
I hope you’ll enjoy this chat as much as I did!
