In 1965, right at the cusp of the British Invasion, The Kinks were 'informally' blacklisted from performing in the USA. While this meant that they couldn't share in the spoils of that gigantic music movement, it also meant that had time to incubate in England... And I don't know if it was some sort of cabin fever of being stuck at home, but they grew to love their shire of a home. They started noticing all the changes urbanization was bringing and how the villages were less and less relevant in the grand scheme of things. The simple ways were disappearing... But The Kinks were going to preserve some of that in the form of their concept album dedicated to all things British. ENJOY!!!
