Police and protestors have clashed in Belfast for the second night in a row, as the family of the knife attack victim have said that they have been left feeling “pretty disgusted” by the disorder.

The US carried out a fresh round of strikes against Iran last night, which has once again been described as ‘self-defensive’ action.

President Trump had said earlier in the evening that the strikes would stop ‘shortly’ and that he was in direct talks with the Iranian regime - but this was rebuked by Iranian officials- who said it was a "false claim" to provide "cover".

The UK's military chief has written to the prime minister amid concerns that an offer of around an extra £13bn to fund a major investment plan for defence is not enough.
