On this episode of Neon Galactic, we interview author Kristina Amelong about her new book, “What My Brother Knew,” a memoir covering the death of her young brother and his precognitive vision of that event.The book, scheduled for public release in May, reveals how Jay Amelong, then a 13-year-old in Madison, WI, somehow caught a glimpse of his own death and warned his family repeatedly in advance.He was hit by a car and killed by a driver that seemed to suffer a strange loss of consciousness just as he was turning a corner. Kristina Amelong, a teenager at the time, was devastated by the tragedy, and spent the next several decades struggling with her feelings, and working through that pain, as well as other traumas she suffered as a child. As the book relates, unprocessed grief and buried memories come to the surface as Amelong ultimately faces her addictions and builds a happy life and family of her own.By interviewing relatives and friends of Jay, she discovers that the short life of little brother had an outsized and positive impact on many who knew him. On this episode of Neon Galactic, we’re joined by author and anthropologist-futurist Eric Wargo to discuss his fascinating and provocative new book, “Becoming Timefaring: Time Travel and the Human Future.”Wargo has made a name for himself through his theories surrounding the nature of time and human consciousness. He’s published several books in that subject area that examine how causation may work both forward and backward in time and how that reality may manifest in lives human lives.This new book expands the argument to point out that rather than being impossible, as we‘be long been told, time travel is an achievable goal for our species, one that may be much closer than we think.We discuss what technologies may enable such travel, both for physical human beings and for information.Wargo here describes the several deep cognitive errors humans have made around time-travel and the possibilities of such travelers undermining space-time. On this episode of Neon Galactic, I’m joined by author and psychonaut Adam Butler, to talk about his life, his experience with DMT, his book, and how turning inward has helped him reinvent his life. Butler is the author of “Butler’s DMT Field Guide,” a volume that describes his experiences on the drug, how it has helped him, and offers various common recipes for acquiring it. We talk about how DMT and other hallucinogens can have therapeutic and transformative power for percipients, if done right. Butler outlines how his life had collapsed due to alcoholism and other personality defects. Through the use of psychedelics and a deep journey inward, he has learned how to live a more centered, passionate, and empathetic life. We also discuss how the lessons learned with psychedelics mirror many of the same ideas and principles offered up by ancient non-dual spiritual traditions. The issues both he and I faced as part of our journeys into addiction and recovery reflect a broader sickness of society at large. Only by understanding our own shadow personality traits, and taking responsibility for their improvement and eradication, can people learn to live improved lives. Butler also describes how a journey to the Monroe Center helped him compare the Gateway Process used there with his own spiritual journey through the use of DMT. Harris Professor in the Department of Pathology at Stanford University School of Medicine. He has published over 350 research articles and is the holder of 50 US patents, and has been honored as one of the top 25 inventors at Stanford University. He has in recent years been one of the foremost scientists willing to engage in the research and study of unidentified anomalous phenomena.We discuss the Sol Foundation, its goals for the future, and how it’s proceeding on three different tracks to help encourage the study of UAPs. On this episode of Neon Galactic, we sit down with experiencer, researcher, author and seeker Daniel Rekshan to discuss his life, work, and perspective on the ongoing contact phenomenon and what it means for humanity. Rekshan is a hypnotist, artist, dream worker, and freelance shaman who has been working over the past several years to help experiencers contextualize their contact and interpret it within the framework of their own lives. He was formerly Perrott-Warrick Researcher at University of Oxford's Ian Ramsey Centre for Science and Religion; Scholar-in Residence at the Centro Incontri Umani (The Cross Cultural Centre), Ascona, Switzerland; and Honorary Research Fellow at the Religious Experience Research Centre, University of Wales Trinity Saint David. He has lectured at universities in the UK, Ireland, and Switzerland and has given numerous talks on his research in nine countries, and has appeared on the History Channel.He holds degrees in Religious Studies (University of Wales Lampeter), Research Methods for the Humanities, Egyptian Archaeology (University College London), and Eastern Mediterranean Archaeology (Birkbeck College, University of London).
