Kristina Mering is the founder and president of the Estonian branch of Anima International, Nähtamatud Loomad. She is also a sociologist focusing on human-animal relations. She has been advocating for animal rights for 15 years, starting her involvement in the movement as a teenager and playing a key role in its development in Estonia. Her organization was awarded the title of the best NGO in the country in 2019, and she herself received the best volunteer coordinator award from the president of Estonia the year before. In addition to her animal welfare work, Kristina has conducted sociological research on slaughterhouse workers and fur industry representatives, and is currently working on a project investigating social norms surrounding meat eating. As I want to run this podcast ad-free, the best way to support me is through Patreon: https://www. patreon.com/martinskadal If you live in Norway, you can consider becoming a support member in the two organizations I run. It costs NOK 50 a year. The more members we have, the more influence we have and the more funding we get as well. Right now we have around 500 members of World Saving Hustle (WSH) and 300 members of Altruism for Youth (AY). • Become a support member of WSH:https://forms.gle/ogwYPF1c62a59TsRA • Become a support member of AY: https://forms.gle/LSa4P1gyyyUmDsuP7 If you want to become a volunteer for World Saving Hustle or Altruism for Youth, send me an email and I'll forward it to our team.
