As Val Kilmer passes onto the next stage, at the unfair age of 65, we say goodbye to him, and remember his impact.

We're jumping from a gritty, grimy meth underworld to a gritty, grimy drug underworld, as Val Kilmer takes on the role of porn king John Holmes in the anti-Boogie Nights drama Wonderland. Kristen Lopez (IndieWire, the Ticklish Business podcast) joins the show to talk all things Los Angeles in the '80s, brutal murders, disability representation in film, and the Governator, and we also play a game!

Not since Infinity War has there been a crossover as important as this episode in which the captain of the KilmerKast joins forces with Brendan and Nathan, the Avengers of What Were They Thinking? to tackle Renny Harlin's much-delayed 2004 serial killer thriller, Mindhunters. It's going to get weird, entering this multiverse of podcasting, in which your host becomes a guest, but if we stick together, we won't die (well, at least some of us.)

We're back at with a quick check-in to talk about this weekend's box-office champ, Top Gun; Maverick, which features Val Kilmer's return to theaters in his classic role as Tom "Iceman" Kazansky. Be forewarn, spoilers lie ahead, so make sure to see the the film before you listen.

Cheryl Eddy, News Editor for io9 and Gizmodo, stops by the Satellite of Val to talk about Kilmer's role as a space janitor in one of 2000's two Mars sci-fi extravaganzas, Red Planet.
