Adventure cycling and Evanston

In the first half of the show our guest is Portland City Council member Tiffany Koyama Lane, a strong advocate for cycling. In the second half Nedra speaks with Ambar Wortham, transportation planner, media producer and oral historian.

In the first half our guest is professional adventure cyclist, route developer and community organizer Sarah Swallow who recently rode the new Golden Gravel Trail, a 3,700-mile route from the Oregon Coast to the Mississippi River. In the second half Nedra speaks with Sarah D. FioRito, Transportation and Mobility Coordinator for the City of Evanston, Illinois.

In the first half Nedra speaks with Ruben Alvarado, Executive Director of Portland's Community Cycling Center. In the second half Alon speaks with Marley Blonsky, co-founder and Executive Director of  All Bodies on Bikes, a national organization which aims to create and foster a size inclusive bike community.

In the first half our guest is Geologist and cyclist Ian Madin who has been the ride-along geologist for Cycle Oregon, a ride that brings together thousands of cyclists and works closely with local communities. In the second half of the show our guest is Nichole Hollis, the Safe Routes to School Manager for the Atlanta Department of Transportation.

In the first half  Nedra speaks with Pascal Picard who is cycling from Alaska to Patagonia and making a film about individuals and projects that use outdoor activities to create a more just and sustainable world. In the second half our guest is Portlander Robert Ping who has been a tireless bicycle advocate for over 25 years. Among the groups he has worked with are the Walkable and Livable Communities Institute and the Safe Routes to School National Partnership. Robert is also a home builder and a musician with the band Mellow Rebels.

In the first half our guest is Carol Kachadoorian, Executive Director of Double Tilde Core Collaborative which focuses on older adults’ mobility and wellness.  In the second half Nedra talks with Joshua Funches of the National Youth Bicycle Council, an organization encouraging young people to be leaders in the cycling community.

In the first half Nedra speaks with Becky Katz, a Manager in the City of Toronto’s Transportation Services Operations and Maintenance section, overseeing a team of 70 staff responsible for the upkeep and winter maintenance of the city’s sidewalks, bikeways and roads.  In the second half our guest is Leon Nettles, Executive Director of Tacoma's Second Cycle, a bike shop and community cycling center whose vision is 'A world where the joy of bike riding is accessible to everybody.'  

In the first half of the show Alon speaks with  Scottish chef and cyclist Alan Murchison who has been described by Cycling magazine as ‘the world's fastest Michelin starred chef.'  In the second half Nedra speaks with Pacha Galaviz, Founder of Minneapolis' Bici Xicas which makes biking accessible through affordable bike repairs, bikes, and bike education.

In the first half of the show Nedra speaks with Dave Simmons, Executive Director of Ride Illinois, an organization which has been at the forefront of cycling advocacy, education and awareness in that state since 1992. In the second half Alon is joined by Cypriot teenagers Dora Turk and Konstantinos Pavlou who talk about cycling in their Mediterranean island and about the group Creating Friendship for Peace which brings together youth in divided lands.

Our first guest is Portlander Farshad Barman, a former math professor who built several bike frames, has gone on long-distance cycling adventures and lectures about  Black Holes and White Dwarfs.  In the second half the guest is Damon Elmore, Executive Director of the State Bar of Georgia,  who from 2013- 2015 cycled to all 150 counties in Georgia to raise money and awareness for a statewide nonprofit he started, Cycling for Good, which organizes a monthly ride in Atlanta that provides personal care and other essentials for unhoused people.
