They contend that the study of history is less about rote memorization and more like being a detective excavating an unsolved mystery or a lawyer preparing to argue an important and novel legal case. Dr. Calvert discusses how a deeper understanding of history reveals us to ourselves and why she is passionate about preserving the life and writings of one of America’s unheralded Founders, John Dickinson.
