The artistry of BUA was forged from growing up during a pivotal time in New York City - the birth of a culture that would become the influential base in his artwork - and enduring a lifetime of nay-saying mentors in education. After finishing the last part of his schooling in Los Angeles, he would disprove them all, going on to design and draw album artwork for various music artists, skate decks for New Deal, background and character design work for EA Sports NBA Street & NFL Street, and set design for Slum Village’s "Tainted” music video. At the same time, he continued to develop his painting craft leading to establishing himself as “the artist for the people by the people of the people with the vision of the culture” breaking the normative conventional acceptances of the art world with his hip-hop focused work, selling over 14 million prints of his iconic piece THE DJ alone.
