Fandom Post Radio Episode 174: Wish Lists and Bitch Lists

Doldrums. That's where we are at. Why are we stuck drifting with no wind in our sails? The corporate overlords are doing their damndest to turn us all back into surfs. Everything is leased or rented, you will own nothing. In context, we are talking about licensing, expired and out-of-print shows and manga, and what we wish would become physical and available in our native language. Plus news, and some recommendations while there are still things out there available for purchase. 

Summertime, and the anime is fresh, hot, and full of wonder. We have news from the cons and expos, including Gundam and Discotek news (but not at the same time.) We have some strong shows this season, both new and returning, and some shows which are turning out to be very divisive, if I do say so. We have divers and mermaids (but not at the same time), hoards and robots (but also not at the same time), cats and dragons (yes at the same time!) Plus recommendations! What are you watching this summer?

Do you want the bad news, or the bad news? The best we can do is some neutral news, is that okay? Okay, we do have a few bits of good licensing news! The bad news is the stuff being licensed is going to be harder to find because the traditional retail markets have been sacked. What we have predicted has come to pass and, my friends, the future kinda sucks! We discuss the news from AX 26, Sony's war on physical media, and some of the not top tier shows that are being watched right now. We are saving the top shelf stuff for the next episode though, because we'll all need a good drink after this one.

SPRING! It is sprung! A lot of the old, a little of the new. We wrap up final thoughts on the Winter season and look ahead to whenever Netflix decides to grace us with more Steel Balls.
