Film Club Lite 110: Blue Velvet (1986)

Our very slow meander through David Lynch's back catalogue (the speed of which makes The Straight Story look like an instalment of the Fast and Furious franchise) led to us recording about Blue Velvet entirely unwittingly on the fortieth anniversary of the film's theatrical release - a coincidence nearly as unnerving as Dennis Hopper's performance (not really). Presented by J.R. Southall, with Jon Arnold and Matt Barber

It's Steed and Peel once again as the randomiser chooses another colour episode of The Avengers for us to watch; this time it's big screen Alydon in an unlikely extortion plot in You Have Just Been Murdered Presented by J.R. Southall, with Jon Arnold and Matt Barber

We go back over the Autons' subsequent appearances - and even non-appearances - and ask whether more should have been made of them  Presented by J.R. Southall, with Jon Arnold and Matt Barber

Kids on bikes, arguing parents, dinosaurs and J.J. Abrams; it's Jurassic Park meets E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial but if an executive somewhere thought that was enough to bust some blocks, then he's probably going to find his head on one of them. We disambiguate The End of Oak Street. Presented by J.R. Southall, with Matt Barber and Ian Winterton

Our response to the film that nearly got binned - twice! - after Coyote vs. Acme finally saw the inside of cinemas Presented by J.R. Southall, with Jon Arnold and Simon Brett

We ask whether each of the Sontarans' subsequent appearances was justified, or whether they were just another costume in the cupboard? Presented by J.R. Southall, with Jon Arnold, Matt Barber and Ryan Blake

There's spoilers ahoy (although we don't reveal the ending) in our review in the workplace black comedy that relocates to a desert island, the latest from Sam Raimi with Rachel McAdams in the lead Presented by J.R. Southall, with Simon Brett

A very self-indulgent trip down memory lane as J.R. and Eric talk - at great length! - about the musical act we used to perform in way back at the turn of the 1990s Presented by J.R. The audio edition of our review of the recently uploaded fully AI-produced fan film that's been piquing people's interest across the internet Presented by J.R. Southall, with Jon Arnold, Matt Barber, Ryan Blake, Simon Brett and Steve Hatcher

Star Wars is back in the cinema, and it's something we've been watching on telly for the last seven years. So in between talking about why this, why now, we try and get to a conversation about the film and whether it's any good Presented by J.R. Southall, with Ryan Blake and Simon Brett
