The Oilers are on fire and it's almost confusing

The Oilers picked up another massive win last night against the Minnesota Wild, and this team is starting to look so different that I'm not sure I recognize them. Mix in their success with a great new season of Love is Blind, and all of a sudden, you've got the makings of a happy Baggedmilk. Want to leave a voicemail for next week’s show? The Oilers are 5-0-1 and the Vikings 5-0, which means I could be having one of my best months of October for sports in history. Either way, my favourite teams are rolling and that meant there was plenty to talk about. Not nearly enough voicemails, though. Help me out! Want to leave a voicemail for next week’s show? The Oilers made a trade this morning that sent Spencer Stastney to Pittsburgh in exchange for Filip Hallander, and while I've never heard of this new friend before today, that didn't stop me from gushing about him anyway. I also looked at the Oilers' Cali road trip, Devon Levi getting the start, and how insane it is that Evan Bouchard keeps getting disrespected around the NHL. Well... I sure was excited about the Oilers' season opener until, well... it started. At the same time, losing 6-5 in OT to a terrible team kinda felt like home, ya know?Want to leave a voicemail for next week’s show? It's been another boring week around here with the Oilers and NHL at large still right in the middle of the off-season dead zone, but I've still got a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never ready what little has happened anyway. On today’s podcast, I discussed the Oilers inching closer to the pre-season, Stan Bowman's pre-season comments, goalie gear, and more. Needless to say, it's been a busy week around here.I kicked off this week's episode with a look at the Oilers' training camp, and how it's going to be interesting to see how things play out with a condensed tune up schedule. This morning, the organization posted their 56-man training camp roster, which is certainly lighter than what we've seen in the past. But with only four exhibition games to play before the curtain drops on the 2026-27 NHL season, teams around the league will need to speed bag their usual pre-season protocol. Regardless, I could not be more excited. Finally, I wrapped up this week's episode of BLTN with a quieter round of voicemails that were all over the map, and complete with an array of different topics. Finally, I capped things off with another please for you to join us on the upcoming Nation Vacation to Toronto, and also that you grab your tickets to the RIPNation event at the Pint on September 26th. It's going to be a night of stories, memories, and laughs, and I'd love for all of you to be there with us. Want to leave a voicemail for next week’s show? It's been another boring week around here with the Oilers and NHL at large still right in the middle of the off-season dead zone, but I've still got a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never ready what little has happened anyway. On today’s podcast, I discussed some Oilers signing Alex Formenton, the boys are back in town, training camp, and more. Needless to say, it's been a busy week around here.I kicked off this week's episode with a look at Alex Formenton after the Oilers announced this morning that they had signed the former Ottawa Senator to a one-year contract. Needless to say, given Formenton's history, the news was not exactly well received by large chunks of the fanbase. Of course, the Oilers have a history of giving players their second chance, so this isn't exactly a new approach for the franchise. The bigger question will be whether or not a guy who scored only 23 points in the Swiss League last year will even be worth the hassle. Finally, I wrapped up this week's episode of BLTN with a lively round of voicemails that were all over the map, and complete with an array of different topics. Wednesday means another episode of Better Lait Than Never is ready to massage your eardrums. This week, I welcomed Zach Laing back to the podcast to talk about the Nation Fantasy Football League, some punk rock, and what's the latest with the Edmonton Oilers.💻 Website: https://oilersnation.com/ Follow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/himynameisbaggedmilk/Follow us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/jsbmbaggedmilkSHOUTOUT TO OUR SPONSORS!!👍🏼 Sports Interaction: https://www.sportsinteraction.com/oilersnation Hosted on Acast. It's been another boring week around here with the Oilers and NHL at large still right in the middle of the off-season dead zone, but I've still got a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never ready what little has happened anyway. On today’s podcast, I discussed some Oilers injury news, new jersey numbers, the Nation Golf Tournament, and more. Needless to say, it's been a busy week around here.I kicked off this week's episode with a recap of what is sure to be a very exciting week around here, as the Nation Golf Tournament kicks off at Millwoods Golf Course on Friday morning in support of Gregor's Grads. The golf tourney is always one of my favourite days on the calendar, and this year's edition will be no different. Turning the podcast to the Oilers, the team announced that some key players are going to miss training camp next month, which is definitely not the news we were hoping to hear. Some of us were thinking trade. Some were thinking PTOs. But injury news in August? That was not on the agenda, people. Finally, I wrapped up this week's episode of BLTN with a guest Righteous Sack Beating about Edmonton drivers not knowing how to drive. Whether it's construction issues being a mainstay or complaining about fella motorists, the weekly RSB is the spot to vent your frustrations until Festivus rolls back around in December. Finally, I wrapped up the show with a quick teaser for an upcoming Nation Vacation that we'll be launching soon, and gave my pitch on why I think you should join us. e still right in the middle of the off-season dead zone, but I've still got a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never ready what little has happened anyway. On today’s podcast, I discussed Connor McDavid's EA Sports ranking, the whining about it online, the Blue Jays being fun, and more. Needless to say, it's been a busy week around here.I kicked off this week's episode with a recap of the only thing we can talk about this summer: reality dating shows. Since there is basically nothing happening for the Oilers or around the NHL, I have all the time in the world to sit and watch the trashiest shows on TV because I'm an adult and no one can stop me. Less embarrassingly, I've also spent a bunch of time watching the Blue Jays try and force their way back into the playoff picture. And after the run they've had lately, it's basically impossible to not jump on that bandwagon again. Even if you've been watching the whole time, this team is playing a fun flavour of baseball right now. Finally, I wrapped up this week's episode of BLTN with a little bit of Elks talk before wrapping up the podcast with another round of voicemails. The voicemail was weird this week since I haven't done it in a while, but I still had a great time hearing everyone's thoughts on whatever it is that you wanted to talk about. The voicemail is the best way to wrap up the show and give everyone a chance to share their thoughts. Another hearty thank you to everyone who contributed to this week's episode. Having all of you in the mix makes the show so much better. Want to leave a voicemail for next week’s show?
