Season 2 Ep. 1: The Avatar State Recap After spending 3 weeks training in the North Pole, The group goes to head to Omashu to find Bumi to have Aang learn Earth Bending from him. They stop in an Earth Kingdom Military base for supplies and the General wants Aang to attack the Fire Lord immediately by going into the Avatar State. He attacks the group causing Aang to go int the Avatar State and learn about the State from Avatar Roku. Meanwhile, Azula arrives and lies to Zuko and her Uncle about their Father wanted Zuko to come back home. They fight resulting in Uncle Iroh and Zuko going on the run in the Earth Kingdom. Season 2 Ep. 2: The Cave of Two Lovers On their journey to Omashu, the group meets a bunch of Nomads who go with everyone into a tunnel through a mountain to lead them to Omahu. After a cave-in happens, everyone gets separated in the dark. Katara and Aang find the tombs of the two lovers and learn that they became the first Earth Benders and must kiss and trust in love to escape the tunnel. Once out of the tunnels, Aang, Sokka, and Katara find that Omashu has been taken over by the Fire Nation. Meanwhile, with Iroh and Zuko, an Earth Kingdom woman invites them over for dinner, where she bonds slightly with Zuko about their fathers being at war, and she shows that she has been burned, on the leg, as well. The Fire Nation has finally made it to the North Pole, with plans to kill the Avatar, destroy the Water Tribe, and a secret mission of Admiral Zhao's to kill the Moon Spirit. Aang heads into the Spirit world to ask for help in finding the spirits, and Zuko kidnaps Aang while his body is vulnerable. While waiting out a storm, Zuko talks to Aang's unconscious body about his abusive father. Sokka, Katara, and Yue rescue Aang, but Zhao captures the Moon Spirit and kills it. After telling the others that the Moon Spirit gave her life, Yue gives her life to restore the Moon Spirit. Aang goes into the Avatar State and unleashes a water spirit that kills Zhao in retaliation for killing it. Our final cliffhanger is Fire Lord Ozai talking with Princess Azula telling her that he has a job for her... Episode 17: The Northern Air Temple Aang, Sokka, and Katara arrive at the Northern Air Temple and find a group of refugees living there, and Aang does not like the changes that the group has made to the Temple. The group discovers that the leader of these people, the Mechanist, has been making weapons for the Fire Nation after they threatened to destroy the temple and kill everyone there. With the help of Aang, Katara, and Sokka, the refugees fight back and drive the Fire Nation Soldiers away. Not before the fire nation gets their hands on a warship prototype the Mechanist was working on... Ep 18: The Waterbending Master After finally arriving at the Northern Water Tribe, the group is shocked to learn that the Northern Water Tribe won't teach Katara water bending because she is a woman. Katara challenges Master Paku to a fight because she doesn't agree with the Northern Watertribe's culture. Meanwhile, Sokka starts falling in love with Princess Yue, who wants to be with him, but is engaged. Episode 15. "Bato of the Water Tribe" After having not seen any of the men from the Southern Water Tribe for two years, Katara & Sokka reunite with Bato, one of the men who went to war alongside their father. Aang begins to feel jealous when Sokka and Katara are given the chance to finally go and see their father again. After Aang reveals that he had hidden information about their father's whereabouts, Sokka and Katara leave with Bato to go and find their father, but soon realize the right things to do is help Aang get to the North pole. Meanwhile, Zuko enlists the help of a woman named June, who uses her Xierxu to track down the group. After a fight that leaves Zuko Iroh, and June incapacitated, the group escapes along with Katara's lost necklace. Episode 16. "The Deserter" Aang, Katara, & Sokka find a Fire Nation Admiral, Jeong Jeong, who deserted the army, and Aang thinks he might be able to teach him Rirebending. After being convinced by Avatar Roku, Jeong Jeong reluctantly agrees to teach Aang. Aang learns to control a small flame of fire but quickly gets carried away and burns Katara, and Aang swears off Fire bending. Katara realizes that she can heal with her Waterbending, after dipping her hands in the water. Admiral Zhao attacks Aang after finding him, and Aang remembers that Jeong Jeong said Zhao shows no restraint. Episode 13: "The Blue Spirit" After Sokka and Katara get sick, Aang sets out to find medicine for his friends. Along the way, Aang is captured by Admiral Zhao's soldiers and taken prisoner. While imprisoned, Aan is set free by the mysterious Blue Spirit. When the Blue Spirit is injured while setting Aang free, Aang sees that the Blue Spirit is actually Prince Zuko. After returning the favor of saving Zuko from capture by Zhao, Aang is left to wonder if he and Zuko might have been friends 100 years ago before the war. Episode 14: "The Fortune Teller" Aang, Sokka, and Katara arrive in a village where all of the residents rely on the local fortune teller to make all of their big life decisions. After getting their fortunes read, Aang and Katara start realizing they might have real feelings for each other, while Sokka is not impressed by everyone believing in fortune-telling. Episode 11: "The Great Divide: Aang, Katara, and Sokka join two feuding Earth Kingdom tribes on a trek through a canyon. On the journey, Katara and Sokka learn that the two tribes had been feuding for 100 years over differing accounts of their tribes' history. Aang ends up lying about knowing the two tribes' history to solve their feud. Episode 12: THE STORM Aang, Katara, Sokka, and Zuko are all heading into a terrible storm. Before the storm, A farmer confronts Aang demanding to know why he disappeared all those years ago. Aang tells Katara that he ran away from the Air Temple when he was told he was going to be the Avatar because everything in his life was going to change. Meanwhile, with Zuko, Iroh tells the crew the reason why Zuko is so dead set on finding the Avatar, and that Zuko's own father is the one who gave him his scar. Aang decides that he is ready to embrace his Avatar role, and Zuko and his crew come to a better understanding of each other. Aang, Sokka, and Katara manage time run into some pirates who happen to have a valuable water bending scroll. After Katara steals the scroll from them, the pirates join forces with Prince Zuko and Iroh, who had found themselves sin the pirates presence when looking for a White Lotus tile. After a three way fight between Zuko’s crew, the pirates, and the Gang, our hero’s manage to escape with the water bending scroll and continue heading north. Episode 10: Aang, Sokka, and Katara stumble upon a Fire Nation soldier camp and are reduce by Jet and his group of Freedom Fighters. Sokka is suspicious of Jet’s motives and how he approaches justice. After Sokka reveals Jet’s plan to flood a nearby village to get rid of some Fire Nation Soldiers, and sacrifice a village full of innocent lives, Aang and Katara finally turn on Jet. Katara freezes Jet against a tree and the group continue on their way. Episode 7: The gang finds themselves in a burned down forest and offers to help a village being terrorized by an angry spirit. While Sokka gets taken into the Spirit World, Aang is visited by Avatar Roku's dragon, Fang, who brings him to an island to give him a message to visit Avatar Roku on the Winter Solstice. Aang calms the angry forest spirit and Sokka and the missing villagers return safely. Meanwhile, Uncle Iroh is capture by Earth Benders and Zuko chooses to rescue his uncle instead of pursuing the Avatar. Episode 8: Aang, Sokka, and Katara, while being pursued by Zuko, head to an island in the Fire Nation so Aang can meet Avatar Roku and speak with him. With the help of a fire sage, Aang is able to contact Avatar Roku's spirit who tells Aang that a comet will be arriving in less than a year.
