Drunk Belligerent Man Arrested After Police Confrontation!
On April 6th, 2023, officers in New Mexico responded to a call about a man, identified as Mark Anthony, who had been making threats. Following the call, officers located Anthony, who was intoxicated and disorderly, informing him that he was being arrested for his unruly behavior. While the officers were reading out his Miranda rights, Anthony consistently disrupted the process. He confessed to being heavily under the influence of alcohol, a fact that was corroborated by the overpowering scent of alcohol on him. Further substantiating evidence came from a partially consumed liquor bottle found in his gray GMC pickup truck. Anthony was placed in handcuffs from behind. He was then led to the police car and secured in the back seat. Despite repeated attempts by the officer, Anthony declined to disclose his full name or consent to a mouth check, which would initiate a twenty-minute deprivation period. Following this, he was taken to the Artesia detention facility for processing. On reaching the jail, Anthony's non-compliance continued. He decided to sit on the floor and resist moving, even with assistance. The New Mexico implied consent was read to him, but he refused a breathalyzer test. He was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Neglient Use of a Deadly Weapon, and Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated.
