Lauren has personally worked with over 6,000 job seekers, from early career to senior-level professionals, with career planning, resume writing, and job application assistance. Lauren has also led human resources (HR), operations, culture, diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEIB), and financial wellness initiatives for various industries, including hospitality, healthcare, manufacturing, global NGOs such as Habitat for Humanity and Care International as well as various other private and public institutions. Coined the “Job-Lady” of the community, Lauren created the first career center for a community of survivors from war-torn countries and immigrants who have experienced trauma resettled in metro Atlanta. At the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Lauren partnered with local neighborhoods in West Atlanta, South Atlanta, and Clarkston to start the first Community Lending Circles using the village savings loan association “microlending” models adopted from West African villages. Lauren is an Indian and Caribbean immigrant from the United Kingdom and grew up in Northeast Atlanta. She studied strategic human resources at Cornell University and l economics and sociology at Emory University. She holds a senior professional in human resources (SPHR) certification. Lauren is publishing her first book, Always Employed, a compilation of real stories of former refugees and ten simple, universally actual rules or “labor lingo” about searching for the right job opportunity for unemployed and underemployed working age groups.
