Dr Nayana Prakash, formerly of the Oxford Internet Institute, comes into studio this week to give an insight into the shape and structure of the internet in India. She talks about the country’s testy relationships with Facebook/ Meta and Twitter/X, why so many Indians see the internet as essential for social mobility and escape, and the ways in which internet culture has been weaponised, only to be subsequently restricted, by the Indian government under Narendra Modi’s BJP.
