Claire is a health and human rights academic at The University of Queensland, with much of her research interfacing with policy, planning and implementation of the SDG Agenda for the realisation and benefit of both environmental and population health and wellbeing, and social justice (social impact).

Research examples include Claire’s leadership examining three countries implementing positive policy and practice examples of SDG implementation (Indonesia, Germany and Mexico), her review of the SDG priorities raised in the written submissions from diverse Australian stakeholders to the Australian Parliamentary Inquiry into the UN SDGs, and research into how multinational corporations are integrating and leveraging the SDG framework to promote their environmental and population health and social impact responsibilities for the purposes of ESG promotion and compliance (and whether activities are “SDG washing”).

Claire is the Honorary Advisory and Thematic Expert for SDG 3 (Health & Wellbeing) on the Legal & Economic Empowerment Global Network (LEEG-NET) high-level human rights and SDG advisory board to the United Nations. She also served a term on the Global Council on Financing the SDGs chaired by the Managing Director of Impact Based Finance at Société Générale.
