EP.37 [EN] - Harry Zhang: Project Galaxy - From Enabling the Shadowy Super Coders to Empowering the Decentralized On-chain Credential Network / Project Galaxy - 从助力“超级影子码农”到去中心化链上声誉网络

At 7am PDT August 24, 2021, Project Galaxy launched its "Shadowy Super Coder" NFT Perks Campaign for over 100,000 eligible blockchain developers along with the sponsorship partners Tenderly, Alchemy, Polygon, Gitcoin, Ankr, Parsiq, Torus, Quicknode, Curvegrid, and OneKey. The perk package for the eligible developers includes a specially-designed Shadowy Coder NFT, and various exclusive perks that are worth more than $300 million USD.

I got to know the team at Project Galaxy at the beginning of 2021. Started as a user engagement NFT module platform, over the past few months Project Galaxy launched  many campaigns with protocol partners on Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, and others. 

In this episode I discussed with Harry about the current use cases of Project Galaxy, and the community's feedbacks on the campaigns. He shared with us about how these user engagement campaigns can be scaled to a permissionless process. We further discussed  the "Shadowy Super Coder" campaign, what this campaign meant for Project Galaxy's users (projects), and the next step for more projects to use Galaxy as a targeted marketing module. We compared the decentralized versus centralized approach for data curation, and where Harry believed the future would look like. We also talked about the social apps and what Harry believes to be pivotal for the Web 3.0 social apps.
