Special Interview Episode (episode 10)

This episode features Jacqui Pratt, talented academic and wrestling writer, plus lead singer in awesome wrestling themed band Cheap Pop. Jac wrote about wrestling as part of her PhD, appears weekly on the PWTorch Bruce Mitchell Audio Show, and sings kickass punk songs about wrestling

Jacqui recently completed her PhD on Rhetoric and Composition, and while that may seem like a funny subject to discuss on a wrestling podcast, trust us you are going to love this nerdy discussion. This will help you see independent, hardcore, women's and intergender wrestling in a whole new light. She shares her work analysing the famous World Cutest Tag Team vs The Young Bucks match from PWG, Candice's crimson mask and all, that combines all 4 topics.

(Cards on the table time: We recorded this back in 2019 before Speaking Out. At the time Joey Ryan was a respected performer thought to be playing a sleazy character, Unfortunately it turns out he was in real life a sleazy character. I don't think this changes the analysis Jacqui did or the themes covered, but please know we would not be talking about Joey in this way if the interview took place today. We are mainly talking about Candice LeRae and storytelling.

Jac also chats about her band Cheap Pop, their badass In Gorilla album, and we end with an exclusive preview of her song Mean Gene. You can follow Jac at https://twitter.com/cheappopisaband
