Engineering a Bright Future in Treasury

With AI rapidly changing the way treasury works, finding the right talent is becoming increasingly difficult, and the next generation is having to learn the profession in a fundamentally different way. Recorded live from the floor of the recent Treasury 360° Conference in Luxembourg, Eleanor Hill (TMI) asks Marianna Polykrati, Group Treasurer at Cooke Hellas whether the traditional treasury career ladder still works in 2026, and questions how senior leaders can prepare the next generation of treasurers for what comes next.

Barış Gökalp, Treasury Director, Şişecam, tells TMI how, throughout his career, he has recognised the need to continue evolving to deliver the best results.

TMI's Eleanor Hill welcomes Kelvin Li (Ant International), alongside HSBC's Selene Chong and Lewis Sun, to look beyond the theory of tokenised deposits, exploring practical applications to solve real corporate treasury challenges. Our guests uncover how Ant International is putting tokenised deposits into practice, becoming the first HSBC corporate client to adopt their Tokenised Deposit Service to move funds instantly between group entities. This case study reveals what Ant has learned from bringing tokenised commercial-bank deposits into its day-to-day liquidity management, offering a glimpse of what real-time liquidity can look like.

Recorded live from the conference floor at Treasury 360° Europe in Luxembourg, Eleanor Hill invites Tariq Kazi, Group Treasurer at Peabody, current ACT President and trustee of the New Economics Foundation, to reflect on his career across banking, treasury, social housing and the not-for-profit sector. Exploring how treasury can become a more strategic commercial partner to the CFO and CEO, Kazi candidly identifies why soft skills and human insights will remain critical in an increasingly automated profession, and reveals how the next generation of treasurers can prepare themselves for the changing demands of the industry.

In this special edition of TreasuryCast, recorded live from the conference floor at Treasury 360° Europe in Luxembourg, Eleanor Hill (TMI) asks Ralf Kesten (cflox) where, with year end approaching, treasury can release cash from the business. Our guest examines how treasury can look beyond traditional funding options to unlock trapped capital, covering receivables and supplier payment terms to treasury-led solutions. Kesten also considers the importance of collaboration with procurement and wider finance, and shares practical examples of how companies can make meaningful improvements before year end, without simply whilst and retaining momentum going into the new year.
