This new documentary tells the story of Selena, a Tejano singer who rose to fame in the late 80s and early 90s and her band known as “Los Dinos”. The documentary was directed by Isabel Castro while Selena’s sister and brother, Suzette & A.B. Quintanilla serve as executive producers. The documentary debuted at the Sundance Film Festival in January 2025 and won the U.S. Documentary Special Jury Award for Archival Storytelling. When the documentary screened at the South by Southwest in March of 2025, Netflix acquired the rights for it and released it on the streaming service on November 17th, 2025.
