The spiritual sluggard is not willing to put forth the effort necessary to become a mature Christian. “Let each one of us examine his own work and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone and not in another. For each one shall bear his own load” (Gal 6:3-5). God gives you a job to tend to your spiritual life and re-present Jesus Christ with the results being rewarded in eternity. “And that from childhood you have known the Scriptures which are able to make you wise” (2 Tim 3:14-17). God gives certain men the gift of pastor-teacher “To equip His people for the work of service so the body of Christ may be built up” (Eph 4:11-12). Spiritual sluggards, beginning with the clergy that fail to teach and the individual believer who fails to grow, are what destroy a client nation like ours.
