Sandy Williams joins the conversation to discuss citizens' rights. The presidency has evolved, giving the current leader unprecedented power compared to past presidents. This change raises concerns about our freedom to express opinions, as businesses that speak out may face harsh consequences. Mahmoud Khalil, a prominent figure during the Gaza war protests at Columbia University in spring 2024, has attracted international attention due to his arrest and potential deportation by the Trump administration. Trump has repeatedly asserted that pro-Palestinian activists like Khalil are linked to Hamas, which the US designates as a terrorist group. The president argues that these protesters should be deported, calling Khalil's arrest "the first of many to follow." Recession is looming along with a possible government Shut down because the government is not looking to reach a median agreement. Sandy reflects on David Brooks article, which is talking about damaging the reputation of the united states no matter who the president is or who will be after Trump.
