Stand Up Men (Part 1)

Join me as we discuss the importance of having Godly men. Boys have to be taught how to be men, but who's teaching? Who's taking the time to teach these boys how to have respect, self control and discipline? Men, it's up to us. If not, we leave it up to interpretation. And there's a lot of versions or ideas of what a man is and what a man is supposed to be. That's why Godly men are important. Men, it's up to us to step up and be the example. 

NEW YEAR NEW ME 😂 Nah, same me, but we do have to make some adjustments. I cannot take some of the same habits, patterns and cycles into this year.  If I'm going to see something different, I'm going to have to move a little differently. I want to be free in 2023, and in order to be free, it's going to take some intentionality on my part. Let's grow together this year! It's not going to be easy, and it may be a little uncomfortable, but I'm willing to give up what's good for what's best!  CHEERS TO A GOOD YEAR 🥂

What Up Y'all! My brother is back dropping gems.  In this episode, we talk about the difference between Believing in God vs Trusting in God. Believing could be easy for some, but trusting is hard. Think about it, you can believe someone is good enough to make the team, but it's another thing to trust him to take the last shot. In this episode, we discuss what keeps us from trusting God fully, whether that be from fear of failing, or being disappointed.  Do we trust God? And of course the cliche answer is of course we do, but do we really? If we did, would we make the same decisions? Would we take more risks or continue to play it safe? Would our prayers even be the same? Maybe we've been living on the level of our fears, instead of our faith.  Just like communication in a relationship is a two-way street, I believe trust is as well. Maybe while you're trying to figure out if you can trust God, he wants to know if he can trust you 👀 TAP IN!

Vikiyah encourages you not to let people, money or even yourself stop you from doing what you were put on this earth to do. Do what God called you to do, and be who God called you to be, no matter how uncomfortable it may be. And when you need a little motivation, remember your purpose might be tied to somebody else. So, if you're not walking in purpose, you could be being selfish, and standing in the way of somebody getting the help they need. And if you are someone who is frustrated because maybe you're trying to find your purpose, and haven’t figured it out yet. It's cool, ask God to show you, and give it time. It'll find you. Who said you have to be successful now? Who said that you have to have kids at a certain age or be married by a certain time? I think a lot of times we can put unnecessary pressure on ourselves, and hold ourselves to unrealistic expectations and then get frustrated when we don’t accomplish goal. We can get so focused on getting to the destination, and not take the time to appreciate the journey. Enjoy the process, because when we rush the process, we ruin the results. I'm trying to enjoy every step along the way. I understand that my time is coming. It may not be right now, but this is not forever, this is just a pit stop. So, I may not be able to do everything I want to do right now - I may not be able to move like everybody else right now - I may not even be moving at the fastest pace But I’m starting to realize that direction is better than speed! Trust the Process!

I ran across this meme and thought it was so funny, but I definitely think it’s also worth having a conversation. Maybe you act like that because you haven’t checked in with him since you was small. Maybe you’re holding on to what you thought he was instead of figuring out who he really is. Maybe you’re like me and went to church every Sunday AND Wednesday, and went to prayer meeting, and sang in the choir, and played drums for the church. Sometimes we attach those things to knowing God, but nah you know church. But that don’t get you in. Just like having a good heart or being a good person isn’t enough . See many people know OF him, but do you know him for yourself? Orrrr do you only know him from your parents? Orrrr do you only know him through your pastor? 👀 I encourage you to spend time with God this week, and get to know him for yourself.

During our conversation about Grace, we talk about how a we sometimes fall short. The problem with falling short is that people see the fall, but don't see the climb. They see what you did wrong, but they don’t see how hard you tried to do what was right. That’s why you can’t live by what people think or say, because you’ll never do enough, you’ll never try hard enough, and you’ll never be good enough. The Bible says man looks on the outward appearance, but the Lord looks on the heart. He gives us Grace to try again.
