We successfully avoided trailers, twitter, Vin's instagram, scuttlebutt and hearsay for a whole year so our viewing of F9 would be as spoiler free as possible. It didn't work, we knew about Han the whole time. However, the culmination of our life's work lies within this episode. Please enjoy.

Melinda forgot we even had an episode this week! A lot of old themes come out to play in A Man Apart. Vin has a goatee, there’s a chihuahua, and we’re visited by our old friend F. Gary Gary. 

On this episode we use Steve Volan’s Internet™️ to watch and discuss the unexpected cult hit The Iron Giant. We are joined by man-about-town Steve Volan to discuss life when you’re 6’8” and whether or not Ted Hughes was a dick. We also bring up Vin Diesel here and there. 

In this episode, Andrew and Melinda watch a XXX movie with her brother!!! Gross!!! Just kidding, we watched xXx which is an xtreme sports comedy spy thriller action drama starring Vin Diesel and the only woman implicated in the #MeToo movement, Asia Argento. If you think that would be tough to pull off, you’re correct. But the movie is fun. For this installment, Melinda and Andrew review and recap Knockaround Guys, a mafia movie that takes place in Montana and stars noted Italian American actor Seth Green. It’s alright. 

Melinda and Andrew went into Pitch Black not knowing a dang thing about it! Turns out this is Vin’s first portrayal as Riddick (as in The Chronicles of). It takes place in space which was another surprise. I think in 2000 this was considered a really good movie. Vin really shines in this, it’s a good thing he has those sunglasses!!!

It was a bit of a sleeper hit and certainly reinforced the idea that Vin could play an alpha-bro type with a rich inner-life.
