Consumers are bracing for a slowdown in the economy, according to the University of Michigan's October consumer sentiment survey. Joanne Hsu notes that while the latest reading showed little change from September, consumers are increasingly worried about pocketbook issues, including the return of inflation and a weakening labor market. Tariffs are also a growing concern, with many believing they will lead to higher prices.
