When Jesus gave up His spirit, the veil in the temple was torn in two. This was no window curtain, it was at least 60 feet high and 4" thick - and separated the common area of the Temple from the Holy of Holies accessible only by the High Priest. The symbolism is simple: through the rending of the flesh of our Saviour, we now have access by grace to God through Jesus. What a glorious truth. This also means that we can not rely on ritual, tradition, or works to draw near to God, we are now bondsmen of Christ. So, once we understand that, what would the life of the believer look like? What should the church look like not just in our day to day service to God but corporately? Has the church become distracted by far too many bells, whistles, and sound systems? Are we still connected to the Head? The daily life of confession, repentance, cleansing and faith, minus any righteousness of our own is truly the only way to the fruitful Christian life. Then a stranger joins them, and asks why they are cast down and sad as they walk, and they respond incredulously - where were You when all this took place? Are you unaware of what has all transpired? And without recognizing their Saviour, they are treated to the most incredible Bible study ever, from the Master Himself. Wouldn't it have been incredible to be a part of that? Also on the agenda: China rare earth elements, and why the US has to care about that; and the latest on Smart Cities for Dummies. What the globalists think is important; ie, what they can get away with, never ceases to amaze. Today Mary welcomes Dr. Tim Chaffey to discuss the controversial Hebrew Roots Movement. Far from simply trying to understand the Jewish roots of the Bible, this movement seeks to answer the question about what happens when Gentiles and Jews get saved: do Gentiles become Jews?  For centuries, the people of God were Jews, with the exception of some Gentiles who came to faith in the God of Israel. The early church consisted mostly of Jewish believers in Jesus, but when the gospel went to the Gentiles, there was a new dynamic that, unfortunately, even led some to believe that Christians were the new Israel and now received all the promises of God solely. This teaching continues today across the church spectrum. Why is there so much confusion about who is who, when the epistles clearly address these things head on? But with the HRM, there is even more confusion regarding the Mosaic Law, the feasts of Israel, who is a Jew, and what is Israel. On today's program, Tim and Mary Danielsen look at a handful of the signs, or indicators, that we are in those days of the labor pains on earth. When Jesus spoke of the signs in the earth, He said to watch for natural signs as the "beginning of labor pains". I guess the one thing we all want to know of course, is, how close are we - when do things point to the middle of pains?  When it comes to watching on the part of the church, it seems they are looking for more drama because the majority are NOT watching, as if these things are just normal -- "all things continue as they have been" is the general thinking.  In light of that, we take a look at the crazy weather this Spring as we perceive creation groaning, or is it rather, raging? Then we look at a random selection, or snapshot of the day: DEI gone wicked in Colorado; hypocrisy and Hamas both home and abroad. Those who watch tend to murmur that it's difficult to keep up, but there are some significant subjects that always warrant our inspection and attention: Israel, a global money system, a world government, and a global religion. With so many parenting styles over the decades, and home-school curricula, parents need to be not just intentional but also measure everything by the Word. We talk about the big issues of the day - are children mature enough to understand them? There was a time not only did these cultural issues remain hidden from children's eyes, but the children were also allowed to fully experience childhood free from the knowledge of sexual and political understanding in a way far beyond their years.  We talk about discernment in curricula; and helping kids make good choices in behavior and self discipline. Telling them what they did wrong, but also helping them choose better next time is critical to driving home the need for good character and responding biblically.
