Once Maria started getting involved in the school system in Arlington, VA she tried to hear the other side of the story. She would invite pro-transgender parents out to coffee, or just try to ask them questions and really get a better sense of what they were going through and what was gong on. But they all refused. They'd say things like, "Oh, I know who you are" and not even give her the time of day. That piqued her interest because usually if you offer an olive branch to someone, they'll take it and try to talk to you. Unless, of course, they're in a cult. “God’s design for sex and marriage is Plan A for child protection. If you deviate from God’s design for sex and marriage in any way, whether it’s softening prohibitions on premarital sex or adultery, or same sex marriage, or whatever it is, what you’re really saying is, ‘I prefer my social acceptance above child protection.”   People will say, ‘I don’t support gay marriage, but it feels really mean to say that.’ And I’m like, it’s not mean. Being the head of a global pro-children’s movement wasn’t Katy Faust’s main goal, it wasn’t even secondary. What she did want to do was to speak out when the gay lobby started lying about kids and their needs. So she started blogging anonymously on askthebigot.com. But before too long, she got doxxed. Since that point, Katy has been a public and outspoken defender of children’s rights.   Katy Faust is Founder and President of Them Before Us, a global movement defending children’s right to their mother and father. She publishes, speaks and testifies widely on why marriage and family are matters of justice for children. Her articles have appeared in Newsweek, USA Today, The Federalist, Public Discourse, WORLD Magazine, The Daily Signal, the Washington Examiner, the American Mind, and the American Conservative. She is on the advisory board for the Alliance for Responsible Citizenship. Katy helped design the teen edition of CanaVox which studies sex, marriage and relationships from a natural law perspective. She detailed her philosophy of worldview transmission in her book, Raising Conservative Kids in a Woke City. The discussion of gay Christian versus straight Christian leaves out a very important realization: the life and blessings God has for us when we let him heal us. Having been a gay Christian before completely giving her life to Christ, Christie May Jesse understands the struggle. “At the core of same-sex attraction, lies a longing to know oneself, to belong,” she explains, but what they’re doing is refusing to give up a part of themselves to God. They’re choosing to hold onto their struggles because it’s more comfortable than facing the pain head-on and learning to let go.   In the 1980’s, Christie went to Stanford as a man-hating, open lesbian. Her rowing coach was an avowed Christian, and a conflict was pretty much inevitable. Christie decided that she would only provoke her coach a little and jokingly asked if she knew of any good bible study groups. Her coach cheerfully obliged. When she knocked on the door for the study group, she was met by another girl who asked her, “Are you a man hater like the rest of us?” That question set Christie on a year’s long quest to deal with her same-sex attraction, the deeper roots of it, the abuse she endured, and even the misogynist atmosphere she was raised in.   Christie May Jesse graduated from Stanford University, while attending on a rowing scholarship. While there she connected with an all female bible study group struggling with their same-sex attractions. That began her journey away from a lesbian identity and towards Christ. Today she has been married for 18 years and works with Desert Stream Ministries, working with those on the path to freedom from sexual and relational brokenness.
