About Dr. Mani
Dr. Mani Alavi is an emergency medicine physician, former attorney, and an avid runner.  He has completed several world major marathons, with a particular fondness for the Boston Marathon, which holds a special place in his heart. Dr. Alavi specializes in heat science and mismatch disease, focusing on heat acclimation and training, and also topics related to mismatch disease, exploring how modern environments impact our health. Outside of medicine and running, he hosts the Adaptation by Fire podcast, where he discusses health, fitness, and optimizing performance in extreme conditions. Additionally, Dr. Alavi writes on these subjects. In his leisure time, he enjoys spending time with his family, coaching his children's soccer teams,  traveling, and enjoying the outdoors.
