Episode 403: Glenn Jones. (The Drones, V2)

The name might not ring a bell, but Jones was there at the very beginning of the Manchester punk scene. In the late '70s and early '80s he played in (pre RAC) Skrewdriver and The Drones, as well as other key bands from that scene. He rubbed elbows with legends and lived to tell the tales. The PTID guys travel to the Land Down Under to talk to Shane from Convict Class. They talk about the early days of the band, and the challenges of touring in and out of Australia. The PTID guys are once again joined El Presidente, Gerry LaFemina, president of Savage Mountain Punk Arts. They chat about the lineup, and how Savage Mountain Punk Fest came together. They also talk about Gerry's band, The Downstrokes, and their new album and recent UK tour. The PTID guys celebrate another hundred episodes by shining some light on a couple guys who help behind the scenes. Jake and Sticks are Facebook group admins, spiritual advisors, and occasionally voices of reason. They're also both musicians, cancer survivors and all around great guys. They in turn shine a light on some deserving, possibly underrated bands. Teenage Bottlerocket, Sludgeworth and The Strains all killed. Local opener Scared Sacred was great too, and the guys are briefly joined by their frontman Derek. Dan (Vapid), Brian (Vermin) and Adam White join the PTID guys to talk about how the Sludgeworth reunion came about, and the making of the new album Second Time Around. The PTID guys caught up with Ray (Carlisle) Rocket while he was on tour with SACK in Texas. Ray fights through phone problems and the blazing heat to update them on the world of TBR.
