Descendents: A Deep Dive with Milo Aukerman and Bill Stevenson
Ask any major pop-punk artist about their influences, and they’re likely to mention Descendents. From blink-182 to Green Day, generations of bands have benefited from their pioneering melodic hardcore.
Led by frontman Milo Auckerman, Descendents grew out of the Southern California punk scene that produced Germs, X, and The Go-Gos. Their debut album Milo Goes to College is a cornerstone of American punk, and subsequent releases laid the groundwork for bands like Jimmy Eat World, MxPx, and the Get Up Kids.
In this interview, Jordan and Demi talk to Auckerman and drummer Bill Stevenson about their friendship, favorite memories, influence on the culture, and fascinating lives outside of the band.
