How Did Thieves Rob the Louvre in 4 Minutes?  The plan relied on exploiting known security gaps. A recent security audit had revealed that many rooms in this wing of the museum lacked security camera coverage. On top of that, the glass on the display cases, while secure, wasn't reinforced to withstand a sustained assault from modern power tools. The thieves were betting that by the time any alarm was raised and security could react, they would already be gone. They had identified a blind spot, and they were about to punch an €88 million hole right through it.
