Episode 33: Veterans Day

Welcome back to the show everybody, we have an exciting episode for you guys this week. In this episode we had the pleasure of speaking with Congressman Seth Moulton of Massachusetts. Seth served in the Marine Corps and deployed multiple times to the Middle East. We get into his military career, becoming a journalist after his service and being embedded with fellow Marines in Afghanistan, to running for Congress in his home state. Cody is a retired Master Sergeant who served in the United States Marine Corps as a Marine Raider/MARSOC and has had a total of seven deployments throughout Afghanistan and Iraq. We're back with a new episode from our show, Never Left Behind. This week is a bit different than usual and we always want to do our best to cover major topics and holidays in between our regular episodes with veteran guests. This week we cover all things surrounding Veterans Day and how we can all get more involved to truly help veterans and help change the narrative. We sit down with Tom Amenta, one of our co-founders, and talk about the good and the sometimes bad things that come with this holiday especially in the most recent years.

Welcome back to the show, today we have a really fun episode for you guys. We are joined with Jesse Phillips who served in the United States Marine Corps and deployed multiple times to Afghanistan. Jesse is a man who has lived more than the average person. From growing up in a family with 13 kids, being raised as a cowboy in Mississippi, to following his passion in film making after his military career, this episode is a crazy one. Through the ups and downs Jesse has had to overcome, he is full of positivity and wisdom we know you all will enjoy listening to on today’s show.

In this episode we are joined with Jordan Hillstrom who served in the 2nd Battalion 75th Ranger Regiment in the army. We talk about his deployments overseas including the incredible story of him and his brother both being deployed at the same time and the journey that Jordan went on to find his brother after being blown up by an IED. This episode is a bit of a sensitive one. It's a bit different than our usual shows but with the chaos that is going on right now in Afghanistan. We felt it was an important time to put everything down, take a break this week, and dive into it. We've always been about supporting other veterans and now is the time when we all need it the most. We have been on numerous news networks over the past week from CNN, MSNBC, FOX, Washington Post, News Nation, Newsmax, and many more, discussing our opinions and sharing more details about our upcoming book, The Twenty-Year War. This week has been hard on everyone but we hope you enjoy this positivity filled episode in hopes to ease peoples minds a bit and allow us all to come together.
