Day 2 of our 12 days of Christmas You know about WWII but do you know about Midway? You're about to... Original Review: The attack on Pearl Harbor was one of the most defining moments of WWII, but it wasn't the only defining moment. So many other moments defined history during this time frame. One that many are unaware of is the battle of Midway. The Japanese were planning a strategic attack on Midway because they thought an attack there would secure their victory after what they had done at Pearl Harbor... and they were right. Fortunately, some intelligence was intercepted allowing America to prepare for the upcoming attack. The only problem, most of our forces that would have been used to defend Midway had been destroyed. The heroic actions of numerous individuals forever changed the course of history. This is that story, their story, the story of Midway and of the brave souls that went above and beyond to do whatever was necessary. Had it not been for those brave individuals, WWII would have had a drastically different outcome. History fans will certainly be enthralled by the historic accuracy of this presentation. As with anything in Hollywood, there are moments that are more for entertainment than history but it doesn't deflect from the story that's told. This isn't a typical fun date movie, it's a historical presentation that is aimed at those who can appreciate the idea that if we fail to learn history, we are doomed to repeat it. One of them is simple for many, answering the question of who their parents are. This story is about one of the few amongst many (the few are more than many realize). Urban Quint, a child that was left to the care of an orphanage at a young age struggled with this seemingly simple question. As time went on, his mother came back into his life and brought him to America. Time and the truth were not on his side, instead of being able to express himself, he was forced to bottle it up as he didn't know what to do with the emotions involved. His son, David, decided that he wanted to know more about his dad's story. Only, the deeper he dug, the more frustrated others became. Years had taken their toll on the man that David simply knew as dad. Only Urban was much more than someone's dad, he was someone's son, was there even more... Who knows... Predator and Prey live in harmony in Zootopia... or do they? Original Review: Judy is a young lady with a dream. Her parents, although loving aren't the most supportive when her dreams are concerned. She's not about to let that stop her, though and she goes on to become the first bunny to complete the police academy. That's not all it will take, though for her to make her mark. She may be small, but she is ingenious. In a dog eat dog world, it is literally the predators against the prey. When a series of missing mammals garners the attention of those higher up. Judy seems to slip through the cracks. Only when she reaches out to someone that she might be able to help does her life begin to change. In doing so she'll change much more than she could realize. This is an ultimate story of the underdog that refuses to give up. Basically triumphing through adversity and dealing with whatever life dishes out, letting it shape who we are and what we do with our lives. What seems like a simple cartoon has a much deeper meaning that might be a little much for younger audiences to grasp but at the same time, if they are exposed to such ideas, they'll have a hope for the future that they couldn't have imagined. This is a story that has the rare ability to reach all ages. There is a complexity to this that may not appeal to some but the majority will find this incredibly endearing.
