HG. Wells is considered by many to be the "father of science fiction." His most famous works, The Time Machine and The War of the Worlds are recognized all over the world. Wells was a prolific writer in many genres, completing such works as The Outline of History, The Science of Life, and The Rights of Man which laid the groundwork for the UN's Universal Declaration of Human Rights. During his life, Wells was a social and political rebel and a prophetic ambassador of technology.
