John later went on to co-found Nitehawk Cinema, where he still works as director of programming and acquisitions. In addition to helping to bring Detroit-style rock ‘n roll to Australia and then to the world with Radio Birdman and playing with some of those Detroit legends in New Race, Deniz became an emergency room surgeon, then a navy pilot and flight surgeon and finally a Kona coffee farmer in Hawaii.
