Elon Musk has often mentioned the potential of mRNA as the "future of medicine" and how he has often thought about the potential of a genetics company harnessing this technology to cure diseases. So in this episode of Moonshot Monday I have a conversation with Ryan Tanaka of Neurapod about what Elon's genetic startup would actually look like. Why he'd launch one (colonize mars, cure diseases), how it would happen, and what its potential would be. Tesla reported it's Q2 2025 earnings last night and the stock is down almost 9% today. There was a ton of useful information in the conference call, but I felt like Elon's vibe was off. He hasn't been paid since 2018, and because of that his ownership in Tesla is much lower than it should be. I'm worried this is holding back the potential for an XAI merger and is a material risk to Tesla. Now the company is betting everything on AI and Robotics ... Elon expects the vehicle business to stay flat (or be weak) for the next ~4 quarters, then Robotaxi will begin to ramp. Targets for Optimus are 100K units/month by the year 2030. One of my most controversial ideas about Tesla yet .... will they enter the drone business, possibly in a collab with SpaceX? As discussions heat up between Elon Musk and Naval about the US falling behind in drone manufacturing capabilities (and the national security concerns that come with that) the obvious question arises, will Elon just fix this problem himself?
