Just got back from Austin, TX and there were Waymo's EVERYWHERE. Calling them was super easy through the Uber app, and surprisingly cheap. I had multiple rides across town that were under $10. Everytime the Waymo was super clean and was a perfect experience. It felt like I was living in the future. Waymo is officially at 500,000 rides per week now, a ~$500M revenue run-rate. I wonder when Tesla's Robotaxi network will catchup?? Will the upcoming Cybercab launch be a gamechanger? I read The Hidden Life of Trees by Peter Wohlleben and it totally changed my perspective on these incredible plants that surround us! Trees communicate with each other, live in families and can be thousands of years old. We've been living in harmony with them for millions of years and it's not only until recently that we understood how complex they are. My Moonshot proposal is that we need to design cities around trees. They provide incredible passive cooling, and numerous health benefits like clean air, happier people, more energy efficient cities and so much more! Last week Starcloud CEO Philip Johnston confirmed that they will be launching a Bitcoin mining rig in space later this year. This will be the first Bitcoin mined in space and potentially one of the most lucrative use cases for orbital datacenters. This could have huge implications to the Bitcoin network's future decentralization and resiliency. Now this has got me curious ... will SpaceX/xAI get into Bitcoin mining in space as well? I haven't felt this since building my first website 20 years ago ... The internet is fun again. AI has arrived and it is about to change everything as we know it. No job is safe, no industry will stay the same ... we are officially in the era of HyperChange. The bigger the problem the bigger the opportunity. Just got back from 4 days in Austin, Texas testing Tesla's Robotaxi network. It was very interesting to show the app to my friends and see their reactions and compare the experience with Waymo/Uber. Robotaxi demand was very high because of low prices, and this mean that about 50% of the time I was unable to call a car due to "high service demand", the other 50% of the time Robotaxi was available with a ~15 minute wait time. I'm STOKED to see this expand! It may take some time, but this will truly transform transportation as we know it ... especially if the price sticks!
