Picking our early favorite 2024 NBA Draft prospects

The 2024 NBA Draft is barely a week away, so Ti Windisch and Rohan Katti of the Gyro Step podcast compiled and shared their full big boards of players who should be available at Milwaukee’s 23rd overall pick and discussed their rankings. For this exercise, Ti and Rohan only considered players who were available at 23 or below in at least one of three big boards: ESPN, The Ringer, and Bleacher Report. Given the Dallas Mavericks are up 3-0 in the Western Conference Finals, they instead of the Minnesota Timberwolves are now the squad to take team-building lessons from. The Dallas lesson is clear: athletic, rangy wing players around dynamic star ball-handlers. The good news for the Bucks is they have those ball-handlers in Damian Lillard and Khris Middleton, plus Giannis Antetokounmpo who checks boxes in both of those skill sets. The bad news is a lot of the Bucks roster around them is old and slow. Ahead of today’s Gyro Step, Ti Windisch compiled a list of players similar to Derrick Jones Jr. using three-point shooting, height, wingspan, and average speed and sorted a list of 17 players who are either feasibly obtainable for Milwaukee or actually already on the roster, and then he and Rohan Katti discussed each option. At the end their picked their favorites from the list and chose who they wanted the Bucks to acquire the most. The Milwaukee Bucks have a big offseason coming up, and it seems Jon Horst will indeed be the one running the ship for it as according to multiple journalists the Bucks denied the Detroit Pistons the opportunity to interview Horst for their President of Basketball Operations job. The Milwaukee Bucks bounced back in a BIG way from two losses in Indiana. The Milwaukee Bucks dropped their third straight game of the first round in Indiana on Sunday evening as the Pacers took a commanding 3-1 lead via a 126-113 win over a shorthanded Bucks squad. Milwaukee was without both Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard (plus Chris Livingston) and also dealt with Khris Middleton and Patrick Beverley suffering injuries mid-game that hampered them down the stretch. Oh, and Bobby Portis got ejected in the first quarter! So yeah.
