GORGEOUS YOUNG HIGH SCHOOL GRAD, PAM, "VANISHES" FROM HOUSTON APARTMENT AFTER "ODD" TEXTS
It’s been eight long years since the Buckner family has seen or heard from Shapammela Latrisha Buckner. She was just 20 years old when she disappeared from the Houston apartment she shared with her boyfriend just after a neighbor and a family member received concerning texts from Shapammela. They believe Shapammela was involved in an altercation just before she disappeared, but police have released few details of the circumstances of her disappearance.
After reports of a disturbance the night before, Shapammela’s landlord stops by to check on her. No one answers, and the landlord finds Shapammela’s door unlocked, so she calls Shapammela’s emergency contact. Family finds all of Shapammela’s belongings, including her phone, purse, ID, and keys are still inside. It’s very strange for Shapammela to go anywhere without those items. When several days have passed with no sign or contact from Shapammela, she’s reported missing, last seen at home the evening of March 21.
It’s late Tuesday night when a neighbor of Shapamella’s hears what sounds like an altercation next door. Shapammela should have been home alone that night, so she sends Shapammela a text to see if she’s alright. Shapammela responds that she isn’t okay and she needs help. The neighbor asks if she should call police and Shapammela says yes, but authorities do not make contact with Shapammela that night.
Shapammela’s aunt also gets a call from Shapammela, claiming she’s being attacked in her own home! Shapammela’s aunt rushes to the apartment to check on her, but someone else answers the door and refuses to let her inside, saying Shapammela isn’t there. Shapammela doesn’t answer any more texts or calls that night.
Houston PD and Texas Equusearch scour the area for Shapammela Buckner, believing she may have left her apartment on foot, but the searches turn up no further clues to her whereabouts. Police interview Shapammela’s neighbor and aunt about what happened that night, then speak with several more possible witnesses. Shapammela’s boyfriend is confirmed to have been on base that night, nowhere near their Houston apartment.
