Cohasset man Brian Walshe has been indicted for the murder of his wife, Ana Walshe, who vanished in January 2023, after a New Year's Eve party.

Prosecutors say the 48-year-old husband dismembered Ana Walshe and discarded her body in multiple trash cans in the area. Police have recovered blood-stained items from the home, including a hacksaw.

Walshe has pleaded 'not guilty' to first-degree murder. As he awaits his trial at the Norfolk County jail in Dedham, we learn Walshe was stabbed behind bars. He was taken to a Boston hospital to be treated for his injuries and released later that night.

According to the Norfolk County Sheriff's office, he was assaulted with a "makeshift blunt instrument." The attack was recorded on jailhouse video.

Walshe's next competency hearing is set for November 14. Jury selection is set to begin November 18.
