Or maybe instead of a conspiracy, we sat through the a false teacher or prophet preaching a whole lotta of anti-biblical nonsense. Realistically, we will never be able to escape with the frenzy of conspiracies, false prophecies and heresies that drop every week on the internet. Most conversations surrounding the gospel talk about the physical pain, suffering and death that Christ experienced on our behalf. Today I want to talk about something else Jesus endured for our sakes, and that's humiliation. Some people think God is egotistical, but when we really take time to consider what it meant for the Creator to humble Himself and suffer at the hands of His own creation, the "egotistical" label simply doesn't stick. Dependency on the Lord is an essential part of our relationship with Him. Despite this, many of us are still hell-bent on doing everything ourselves. We typically refer to this act as "trusting in the flesh". God is not a fan of this. In fact, He's cursed the Israelites for doing this in Jeremiah 17. Not only is trusting in the flesh offensive to God, it can also lead to a life of anxiety, stress, fatigue and rocky relationships. As men we are told we need to be strong and independent. However, that does not mean we should be independent from the Lord. To be a man is to be DEPENDENT on the Lord.
