In the opening talk to this retreat, Ajahn Brahm provides guidance and stories that illustrate core tenets of meditation practice, including silence, relaxation, mindful appreciation, and loving-kindness. He then leads a 40-minute meditation in which he encourages the retreatants to find comfort and relaxation through kind awareness, and to cultivate gratitude for and trust in the breath.

This is part of a series of teachings from the short retreat called, "Compassionately Mindful" led by Ajahn Brahm & Ajahn Canda, in the UK, in June 2025.
