šŸ•Šļø INTRO

Shalom, and grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Welcome to The Notes I Leave podcast.

The Hebrew word ā€œshalomā€ signifies more than mere peace; it signifies wholeness, completeness, well-being, harmony with God and others. All of which, I wish for you.

The purpose of this podcast is to share the diverse experiences I encounter as a professor, teacher, entrepreneur, student, father, son, brother, and follower of Christ Jesus. These notes are intended for you, now and in the future.

šŸ“– MAIN MESSAGE

šŸ“œ This week’s theme:

In this episode, I discuss how Christians view end times (eschatology) in reference to the tribulation.

šŸ“œ Anchor verse(s):

15 ā€œTherefore when you see the abomination of desolation which was spoken of through Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place (let the reader understand), 16 then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains. 17 ā€œWhoever is on the housetop must not go down to get the things out that are in his house. 18 ā€œWhoever is in the field must not turn back to get his cloak. 19 ā€œBut woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 ā€œBut pray that your flight will not be in the winter, or on a Sabbath. 21 ā€œFor then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will. 22 ā€œUnless those days had been cut short, no life would have been saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short. 23 ā€œThen if anyone says to you, ā€˜Behold, here is the Christ,’ or ā€˜There He is,’ do not believe him. 24 ā€œFor false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect. 25 ā€œBehold, I have told you in advance. 26 ā€œSo if they say to you, ā€˜Behold, He is in the wilderness,’ do not go out, or, ā€˜Behold, He is in the inner rooms,’ do not believe them. 27 ā€œFor just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes even to the west, so will the coming of the Son of Man be. 28 ā€œWherever the corpse is, there the vultures will gather.

Matthew 24:15-28, New American Standard Bible, 1995

šŸ“œ Application or takeaway:

šŸ™ TRANSITION TO MEMBERS

That is the heart of what the Lord laid on me this week—but for those of you walking this journey further with me, there is a deeper side I want to share; in the members-only section, I’ll be opening up about how this career change challenged me as a father and a disciple.

But first, I would like to leave you with a quote and question.

šŸ“š Quote:

"This passage of Daniel is exceeding deep, but it teaches us at least this much: that there is a fixed and certain time when God will accomplish His purposes, both of mercy and of judgment, toward His ancient people and toward the world."

—Charles Spurgeon

ā˜•ļø Question:

What is your view of the tribulation period and is it a means of division or education amongst Christian brothers and sisters?
