The Oilers sign Alex Formenton and the reaction was exactly as expected

It's been another boring week around here with the Oilers and NHL at large still right in the middle of the off-season dead zone, but I've still got a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never ready what little has happened anyway. On today’s podcast, I discussed some Oilers signing Alex Formenton, the boys are back in town, training camp, and more. Needless to say, it's been a busy week around here.I kicked off this week's episode with a look at Alex Formenton after the Oilers announced this morning that they had signed the former Ottawa Senator to a one-year contract. Needless to say, given Formenton's history, the news was not exactly well received by large chunks of the fanbase. Of course, the Oilers have a history of giving players their second chance, so this isn't exactly a new approach for the franchise. The bigger question will be whether or not a guy who scored only 23 points in the Swiss League last year will even be worth the hassle.Finally, I wrapped up this week's episode of BLTN with a lively round of voicemails that were all over the map, and complete with an array of different topics. Since there is basically nothing happening for the Oilers or around the NHL, I have all the time in the world to sit and watch the trashiest shows on TV because I'm an adult and no one can stop me. Less embarrassingly, I've also spent a bunch of time watching the Blue Jays try and force their way back into the playoff picture. And after the run they've had lately, it's basically impossible to not jump on that bandwagon again.
